Going More Further

Dude, that was fun. I can’t get my head around the idea that I’m leaving Portland in 7 days. I can’t get my head around the idea that I get to take Ops Research (real, interesting, make-a-difference math), Education Policy (that matters), Breakdancing, Swimming, freaking research (not how to solve x equals y equals something weird, not the incrementally better methodology for remembering z, but figuring out a few things that matter, and figuring out how to figure those out… whatever I want to know). Helping create the future of democratic involvement. Helping make a difference for thousands of people that come to this country with a handicap.

Seriously, making life better for thousands of people. Maybe millions. I can touch more than I coud meet, ever.

Always more... It's for you as long as I have it to give. I have everything I want and nothing I don’t. There’s way way way way way too much to do. It makes me not want to sleep.

And I still can’t get my head around the idea that some of the coolest people here will still be “here” for me, even when neither of us are still here.

I am so lucky. Thank you Liz, Garrett, Rahna, Jeff, Phillippa, Meg, Tara W., Tara E., Adam O., Adam P., Ben E., Ben M., Toto, Topher, Allison, Anna, Clinton, Jen, Phil, Jim, Brian, Leon, Andy F., Andy A., Justin, Amy, Simon, Mo, and — also you… What inspires you should entire you.

It’s only been 3 months?? Any second now someone will pinch me and I’ll be forced to be a little less optimistic.

Strike us like matches, cause everyone deserves the flames
We only do it for the scars and stories, not the fame
At least everyone is trying, everyone is shining
Everyone deserves the flames

Merry Christmas!! When are you coming to Claremont?
    Take care Steph

They say this to those who depart Egypt: Those who drink the water of the Nile will return. More accurately, those who drink the water of the Nile just became host to an extended family of parasites. Regardless, the boomerang effect is there. And I’m betting that Voodoo Donut has a stronger homing signal than cruddy ol’ Nile water. Those who bite into a bacon maple bar will return. Tom, you’ve owned this town since you showed up, broken window and all. Come back soon now, y’hear?

  3. Tom Says:

Hey, take some credit, man. I’ll miss my friends here much more than a donut stand I only went to once. And thanks :)

Steph – December 2 or 3. You can count on getting a call during the drive =) See you soon!
