I just returned from co-leading an Orientation Adventure trip for 12 incoming Pomona students. Guess what, it was awesome.
Short Canoeing B, co-led by Erin and I, survived brain-eating amoebas, crazy canyon currents, hypothermia, apache helicopter strafings, and canoe thieves, not to mention each other, our co-adventurers on Short Canoe A, and a couple of 7 hour bus rides. All of the kids were hella cool and I’m gonna miss them all a lot this fall.
Now I feel really weird having to keep clean (take a shower after volleyball? why?) and breaking that habit I developed of checking every 10 minutes to make sure I could see all seven canoes.
