i’ve been meaning to post for a while and i got some time before math caps, so…
two things, probably obvious but worth remembering nonetheless: life is a game of execution, not strategy. doing what you’re doing well is much more important than maneuvering yourself into the “right” place, especially with foresight being what it is. if you never fall, you’re not pushing yourself enough. something i’ve believed since day 1 snowboarding but never had the balls to put into practice in the rest of my life. but there’s something undeniably gripping about committing to something you don’t know whether you can do or not. social, professional, personal, whatever… who was it that decided it’s impossible not to be the person that others expect you to be? fictional character in a story. anyway, i was going somewhere… oh yeah, if you put yourself in positions where other people expect things of you, their expectations will push you further than you could push yourself. good medicine.
why push yourself? who are you kidding, it’s not like you have anything better to do.
