OA rocks

I think I have the only job ever where the more of a workaholic you are the more you get to hang out with cool people. Man when I’m busy with school work I don’t get to see nobody. I’ve worked >10 hours a day for the last week and I’ve seen/met so many cool people. Bout a hundred, and I remember at least 50 or 60. Plus I met this sophomore chick who’s sooooo fucking cute it’s unbelievable. We’ll see where that goes, but I really love falling for girls about as much as actually going out with them, maybe more, so it’s all good pretty much no matter what. And for the first time in my entire life I think getting up at 9 is sleeping in.

And… we’ve done an amazing job of organizing OA this year. Lots of good comments from the people we’re dealing with, and the leaders have been awesome (helping us out with shit and participating and being excited and reliable and wonderful). This time last year I was up til 3 stuffing envelopes and printing databases. But now I’m up hangin out with my old little’uns (from my trip last year) and blogging. And last night I even had time to drink. Wow. There’s so much energy around campus this time of year, anticipating and then greeting (and soaking) the freshmen, it’s really sweet. Everyone’s happy and excited. Despite getting up at 7 I haven’t been able to sleep before like 2 for the last three nights, cuz I’ve been bursting. Gotta prepare a lesson on environmental injuries tonight for wilderness first aid in the morning. And deal with some other logistics. I like having shit to do. It’s so amazing that six of us (with some help and generous funding) can send 410 new students and 90 older ones off to have the times of their lives for 4 days.

I can’t believe it’s been 20 days since my last post. That was about when I started actually working I guess. This year’s gonna be tight, I just hope I can keep my energy level up enough to party/work a lot. Woah I’m a senior. Kind of.

And so I raise my chin as the show goes on… the sky is listening, the stars all sing along…
I’m gonna miss the seniors (04) this year.
